Cassina wins a Wallpaper* Design Award 2023 for the Flutz chair

What better way to start the new year than with a prize? Cassina inaugurates 2023 with a Wallpaper* Design Award for the Flutz chair, designed by Michael Anastassiades, in the ‘Best Silhouettes’ category of the prestigious international magazine’s yearly awards.

Encapsulated in the minimalist lines of Flutz is a fascinating material and structural oxymoron. Two thin parallel aluminium sheets rise up to shape its armrests, producing a rigid support that welcomes a comfortable seat which seems to float above the base. Essential and clearly defined, this construction calls to mind the poetic grace of figure skating, a sport in which precision is paired with sophistication.
